Trash 2 Treasure: Valuing E-Waste
This project aimed to highlight the environmental impact of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and promote repair.

Phase 1: Trash 2 Treasure – Photo Workshop
Overview: A photography workshop focusing on e-waste.
Outcomes:
- Participation: 10 local participants from Somers Town.
- Activity: Participants captured artistic images of discarded appliances, highlighting their potential.
Phase 2 & 3: Trash 2 Treasure – Repair Event and Exhibition
Overview: Combined a repair event with an exhibition to raise awareness about e-waste.
Outcomes:
- Exhibition Visitors: More than 200 people viewed the photo exhibition and informative statistics.
- Engagement: Engaged in conversations with approximately 55 individuals regarding e-waste concerns and repair difficulties.
- Repairs Made: 10 out of 14 items successfully repaired in 3.5 hours.
- E-Waste Collected: Total of 30.804 kg collected.
- E-Waste Diverted: 20.107 kg successfully saved from landfill/incineration so far.
Project Legacy
The photo exhibition of electronic waste items, along with its accompanying information posters, is prepared for a tour of Camden libraries. This tour was completed further spreading the message of e-waste reduction and repair to a wider audience.
