Thursday 26th February, 2026
91 Key Stage 2 students from ten Camden primary school groups came together to pitch their ideas for sustainability projects tackling waste and promoting circularity in their schools. This year, we were very lucky to have been hosted by the Royal Veterinary College at their fantastic Camden campus. With an awe-inspiring array of specimens and models on display, RVC’s amazing campus provided the perfect backdrop for what was a very successful Green Dragons’ Den event!

The theme to this year’s event was circularity. Alongside their pitches and a campus tour, students took part in fun, educational workshops delivered by Anthesis and RVC, the Compost Collective and Veolia. In the hands-on, interactive workshops, students made their own bird feeders from recycled plastic bottles, learnt about soil health and worms (live ones!), and explored waste and recycling systems.

Utilising the Camden Climate Alliance‘s network of eco-conscious and socially responsible businesses, Think & Do fundraised £5,000 to sponsor each schools’ sustainability project! This means that each school has been awarded the maximum prize amount of £500! Think & Do would like to thank each of the sponsoring businesses:
- Anthesis
- Arada
- Blade Services
- Imperial London Hotels
- LabTech
- St George PLC
- Sheppard Robson
- Troup Bywaters + Anders
- Camden Council’s Schools’ Clean Air Fund
Looking forward: Impact
This year, we will be gathering photos, videos and testimonials from the schools as they make progress on their sustainability projects, providing support where needed. Later down the line, Finley and the team will visit the schools to see how the sponsorship money is being put into action, and to gather feedback from teachers and pupils. We’re really excited to see the projects come to life:
- ‘Bee Brilliant’ & ‘Buzz Stop’: building bug hotels out of recycled materials.
- ‘Eco Club’: Green Class awards, installation of waste and recycling separation systems.
- ‘Fair Cup’: Reusable cup scheme to reduce waste, to be rolled out at the school fair.
- ‘From Scraps to Super Soil’: dedicated food waste bins, which will be fed to an educational wormery, turned into compost and used in revived raised beds by the new Growing Club.
- ‘Rain to Table’: Installation of rain-water collection systems to supply water to the school garden.
- ..and more…
