Street Swaps
Retail therapy doesn’t have to cost the Earth.
What are Street Swaps?
- Give-and-take events
- Residents leave out unwanted household items
- Collected by volunteers and staff
- Stall set up, take- one-give-one system encouraged.
- Hyper-local and accessible to all
Why?
- Building resilience through shared involvement in a community activity, across a diverse set of residents
- Diverting items from landfill
- Extending lifespans of items – Slowing Loops
- Generate awareness of circularity in Camden
- Tackle social inequity through sharing of resources
In collaboration with Camden Council and Transition Kentish Town, we’ve organised Street Swaps across Camden to celebrate the value of our shared resources, support residents to reduce waste, and help Camden to become a more circular community.
